If I use a picture from Internet to make an artistic paint work, am i doing something illegal or unethical?
Some times I use parts of a photo, just to document me to make a realistic paint, sometimes I "interpret" exactly the photo with my handmade art... does it lose originality? does it is unethical? or even illegal?
most images on the web are copyrighted, not all but most.
As far as using a image from the web to create your own piece of art work goes it depends. Mostly its going to revolve around where or not you used the photo to create your art for profit. In which case if you did then the original owner of the image is intitled to royalties.
Now if your work looks nothing like the original image then you have nothing to worry about.
