Is intelligence original? Is it something to be proud of or be valued?
I was caught in one of my many delusional daydreams and i was thinking, everything a person really knows is just based on memorization, or it was derived from their imagination but imagination is not really your own because you create your imagination based on what you've seen in society. In other words you cant imagine a color outside of the color spectrum, or any other color not in place already. But then i thought to myself again. Perhaps with abstract thought it would be possible. Is there any new knowledge? Am I just crazy? Does anybody think of stuff like this too?
Imagination is synthesis.. You take something you know and add/remove components. What you end up with is something unique but all the components were already there if that's what you mean. Both imagination and intelligence in general are useful and valuable.. But in general I don't think you should be proud of anything.. Pride only comes about in comparison to something else, Thinking oneself better or worse because of it.. In my opinion pride is destructive whether you're on top or bottom of the situation.. Doesn't mean you can't value something though.
